Description
Original on Strathmore 140 lb paper. pastel/graphite/fine sand/lacquer. Semi-abstract. Minimalist : Jean Louis " Jack " Kerouac. b.1922 d. 1969. American novelist and poet, his writings inspired many other writers. One of the original beatnik's became an underground celebrity, along with Allen Ginsberg, Gregory Corso, Gary Snyder, and others. Kerouac's style of writing was influenced by jazz, bebop, and later Buddhism. His abuse of alcohol and drugs led to his subsequent early death. His notable works are: On the road, The Dharma bums, Big Sur, Tristessa, Visions of Cody, Doctor Sax.
