Description
Original in the series honoring San Suu Kyi: B.1945 in Rangoon, Burma: Having won a parliamentary seat in the recent election she now leads the National League for Democracy a small bloc in a military controlled parliament.
This rendition of her likeness as I perceived it in 1996 in a semi-abstract style, trys to illustrate the personal scars and abuse she was subjected to for many years. Being the fine lady she is, she now sits beside those who were at one time her tormentor's, she knows that politics is a dirty business, driven by power and money. Pen/Ink acrylic wash on Strathmore 140 lb paper.
